Leeds Conservatoire in Partnership with Leeds Playhouse
Leeds Playhouse co-deliver our MA Dramaturgy course, allowing us to create and deliver collaborative activity of academic and artistic value regionally and nationally. The partnership strengthens the status of Leeds as a centre for artistic excellence, contributes to the training and retention of a diverse talent pool and boosts the resilience of the cultural and higher education sectors in the region.
Check out Leeds PlayhouseAs a result of the partnership, MA Dramaturgy students are able to:
- Work with leading professionals in the field
- Devise and develop work in a producing theatre
- Work with a broad range of practitioners from literary departments and theatre companies in the development of new work, to experience the various shapes the role of the dramaturg may take whilst still focusing on their own individual area of interest (musicals, plays and dance).
Our Partnership with Leeds Playhouse
"I am thrilled to be collaborating with our partners, Leeds Playhouse on the delivery of our new MA in Dramaturgy. Both institutions are development engines, passionate about artistic development, championing new work and new voices. So, there is no more fitting a collaboration than coming together to train dramaturgs. The benefits for dramaturgy students, working closely with such a theatrical powerhouse, at the coalface of new work and development are immeasurable."
Erin Carter, Programme Leader at Leeds Conservatoire
“We are really excited about this collaboration with Leeds Conservatoire which will provide the students with hands on experience in a working theatre alongside our fantastic team of artists and creators. Working with these students will open up a world of possibilities for how we can make work and support artists in this city and to expand the boundaries of what we think about when we think of dramaturgy.”
