What was your earliest musical experience?
Writing my first lyrics aged 13 on holiday in France for my first band.
What attracted you to studying in Leeds and what do you think of the musical community here?
The community feel of the city and live music scene was amazing and still is.
Could you briefly tell us a little bit about your career to date?
I am currently a music teacher working with SEN students. I play gigs and events on the side and still write and record vocals for house DJs all around the world.
How did studying for a degree at Leeds Conservatoire prepare you for your current career?
The course I studied prepared me to be the best possible version of me creatively and personally. I grew a lot as a person and as an artist.
Tell us about your most memorable experience during your time at Leeds Conservatoire?
I wrote a song with one of the members of Snow Patrol, and I also performed with my ensemble group at The Wardrobe which was an incredible experience.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to get their 'foot in the door' in the industry you're in?
Always stay true to yourself, make as many contacts as you can, and don’t let any 'Noes' stop you!
What's coming up next for you in terms of projects, releases or tours?
A lot of releases coming up and just focusing on my teaching career at the moment.
Who encouraged you to study music?
The feeling of escapism music gives me is something nothing else can make me feel. It is my passion and my life. There was no other subject that would of come close to studying and never will.
