Ciaran Monoghan

Bio

Ciarán is an Irish actor and aspiring director from Belfast. He began his career acting in short, student films across Belfast and Dublin. After acting on stage with the amateur dramatic group, Rosemary Players, he began training at the Lyric Theatre’s Drama Studio where he was introduced to the practitioners Stanislavski and Chekhov. These practitioners would become the primary influence for Ciarán’s style of acting. Upon completion of his training at the Lyric, Ciarán enrolled on Leeds Conservatoire’s new BA acting course. Here, he further developed his practice, honing his naturalistic style and movement, taking inspiration from Laban. During his conservatoire training, Ciaran found a passion for directing, realizing he was as interested in process as performance. In Ciarán’s graduate season he will join the company of Macbeth (a Leeds Playhouse collaboration) before making his assistant directorial debut under Deborah Newbold in Chris Hannan’s adaptation of Crime and Punishment.
