Bio
Joe Deverell-Smith is an Actor Musician from Stratford-upon-Avon, currently in his graduate year on the Actor Musician programme at Leeds Conservatoire. Joe has performed in multiple professional shows, making his debut in 2018. Locally, while in training, he has worked with local theatre companies Wrongsemble, Arts at The Arms and Sneaky Experiences. Alongside his love for theatre, Joe has a great passion for playing and creating music. Specialising in guitar, he also plays piano, harmonica, clarinet and has strong tenor vocals. Using his passion for music and song writing, Joe enjoys performing in his indie/folk band Sinistrum. Joe’s first love is Shakespeare, so he is delighted to be opening this season as Malvolio in Twelfth Night, directed by Alex Ferris. In the New Year, he can be seen as Suarez in the Actor Musician musical, The Coop Coop Club, directed by Erin Carter and Elvi Piper.
