Bio
Katherine Kaims is an actor, theatre-maker and folk musician currently studying Actor Musicianship at Leeds Conservatoire. She specialises as a woodwind player, writer, and theatre maker. During her studies she has been assistant director and dance captain in Peter Rowe’s Beauty and The Beast: The Rock ’n’ Roll Panto Year 2 project, as well as playing Fairy Fortunate. In the same year, Katherine played Grocer Woman and provided oboe, accordion and percussion for Eugène Ionesco’s Rhinoceros. In her graduate season Katherine will be performing as Maria in ‘Twelfth Night’, at Leeds Playhouse, directed by Alex Ferris; and as part of the Ensemble in Darren Clark’s ‘The Coup Coup Club’, at Slung Low, directed by Erin Carter and Elvi Piper. A singer and multi-instrumentalist, the nature of ensemble artistry is at the core of Katherine’s practice and values. She is committed to telling truthful stories, especially those that reflect her upbringing in the North.
