Bio
Kaan Bekar is a 20-year-old British/Turkish actor from Bromley, southeast London. Having started his performative journey in his GCSE and A-level years at The Ravensbourne School, studying Music and Performing Arts. Kaan then went on to join Leeds Conservatoire where his training has focused his skills to become a highly energised yet disciplined actor with a passion for various different types of performance. Being able to competently play the piano and having great passion for singing, Kaan uses his vocal skills to bring life to the characters he plays. Having hobbies such as climbing, tricking and gymnastics has given Kaan an explosive theatrical style which he uses in many ways to capture the energy of different characters.
Kaan’s most notable roles include Konstantin in Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull, Semyon Semyonovich in Nikolai Erdman’s The Suicide (directed by Yusuf Khamisa) and Uncle Lenny in The Cherry Tortured (written and directed by Aaron Posner).
In his third-year season, Kaan will be bringing life to the roles of The Squire in Treasure Island, directed by Tom Bellerby, and Pheax in Welcome to Thebes, directed by Debs Newbald.
