Bio
Sophie Maybury is a multifaceted actor from Reading, Berkshire with bases in both Reading and Leeds. She has experience in both classical and contemporary theatre and devising. She is currently in her third year of training at Leeds Conservatoire, prior to this Sophie trained at READ College on their Acting Foundation course. Outside of her training, Sophie took part in the National Theatre’s New Views writing programme led by Tess Seddon at Leeds Playhouse furthering her ability and interest in writing.
Whilst in training at Leeds Conservatoire Sophie has taken on a variety of roles, including, Katherine/Marie Curie in Chris Bush’s, Faustus: That Damned Woman and Arkadina in The Seagull/Stupid F*cking Bird. Most recently, Sophie has been a part of an immersive production of [BLANK] by Alice Birch.
In her third-year season, Sophie has played the role of Nurse in Romeo and Juliet at Leeds Playhouse Quarry Theatre and is due to appear as Pargaia in Welcome to Thebes at The Carriageworks Theatre.
