Bio
Clara Carson is an actor currently in training at Leeds Conservatoire. During her graduate season, she plays Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Rebecca Nurse in The Crucible, while also serving as Assistant Director in the latter.
Throughout her training, she has taken on roles such as James Reiss in Mike Bartlett’s Charles III and Hannah in Amie Burns Walker’s Forty Elephants. Clara has also featured in short films, including Beacon, written and directed by Elian Beaumont, where she played Lumen, and Growing Pains, written and directed by Laura Barby, in the role of Dorothea.
Clara is a powerful naturalistic actor with a love for screen and classical theatre, particularly Shakespeare. She is passionate about social activism within theatre and politically motivated storytelling, especially when it comes to stories centred around female empowerment and the immigrant experience, as she comes from a line of immigrant matriarchs.
