22 female and nonbinary musicians, aged between 8 and 15, were welcomed to Leeds Conservatoire to experience jazz music and improvisation in a supportive environment.

The event, at Leeds’ first direct arena, launched the 2023 Leeds Youth Music Festival led by Leeds Music Education Partnership.

This year's shortlist includes staff from both Leeds Conservatoire and Leeds Junior Conservatoire.
