Leeds Conservatoire’s School of Drama is breaking new ground this year, securing the rights to stage not one but two UK premieres as part of their annual season of live performance.

The Royal Armouries has laid down the gauntlet to Leeds Conservatoire students, challenging a group of fifty to create twelve works in under ten days. The works will be performed to the public on a special museum takeover day on Friday 7 June.

UK Music held its annual awards celebrating the best of the Music Academic Partnership (MAP) network. Ruby Ewing, who studied Songwriting at Leeds Conservatoire, secured a Special Mention prize, with Actor Musician graduate Tasha Dowd also nominated.

Fledgling graduating actors from Leeds Conservatoire are ready to take flight in a gripping double bill of Shakespeare classics performed on Leeds Playhouse’s epic Quarry stage.

Joe Deverell-Smith, who recently completed his Actor Musician training at Leeds Conservatoire, will be playing Claudio in a touring production of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing.

Tasha Dowd is set to make their professional debut in Vernons Girls at Liverpool’s Royal Court running from 9 June to 8 July.
