Every year, the RPS provides funding to talented young musicians who do not own an instrument suitable for their professional training. The RPS has again chosen to support three of our students.

The Ivors celebrates songwriters and screen composers and recognises the craft and achievements of outstanding music creators. This year’s nominees include Max Clilverd, a Leeds Conservatoire graduate.

Leeds Conservatoire has an ongoing partnership with Sound City. As part of this, the festival team has selected artists from the conservatoire to perform at Sound City 2024: the eighth year in a row.

The band, who met at Leeds Conservatoire, entered the UK top ten with their critically-acclaimed debut album, and were then honoured in the first Northern Music Awards.

The conservatoire secured performance and placement opportunities for students and recent graduates this summer through continued festival partnerships.

Leeds Conservatoire is delighted that a record number of students have been awarded 2023 Instrument Purchase Grants from the Royal Philharmonic Society.
