Joe Deverell-Smith, who recently completed his Actor Musician training at Leeds Conservatoire, will be playing Claudio in a touring production of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing.

Award-winning Oddsocks Productions are bringing this romantic romp to life in their own inimitable, hilarious and irreverent style for the summer of 2023. Oddsocks are passionate that every person in society has the right to access and enjoy theatre in an entertaining, informative and inclusive environment.

This exciting, extensive tour of Much Ado About Nothing starts in Staffordshire on Sunday 18 June with an open-air performance at Tamworth Castle and concludes on Sunday 13 August at The Vicarage Gardens in Sark, Guernsey. For those local to Leeds, a free performance is taking place in Middleton Park on Tuesday 11 July, starting at 7:00PM. Further details about the latter are available here.

Shakespeare fanatic Joe, who grew up in The Bard’s birthplace of Stratford-upon-Avon, shared on Twitter that he was “thrilled to announce I’ll be on the road for two and a half months playing Claudio in Much Ado About Nothing.” During his studies, Joe played Malvolio in Twelfth Night, a Leeds Conservatoire Shakespeare production presented in partnership with Leeds Playhouse.

Now, Joe is signed with Keddie Scott Associates, who represent clients internationally in all areas of theatre, television and film.
