Leeds Conservatoire has been accredited with a Silver Award in the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework (TEF). This is the first year that Leeds Conservatoire has entered TEF as an independent HEI.
TEF assesses excellence in teaching at universities and colleges, as well as whether they ensure excellent outcomes for their students in terms of graduate-level employment or further study.
The conservatoire was also praised for its small group and one-to-one sessions where students are challenged and supported to become professionals in the music industry; and for its broad scope of ongoing, tailored support for students.
The TEF panel highlighted the continuation rate of LCoM students into employment or further study, which is above the TEF benchmark.
Vice Principal & Director of Curriculum at Leeds Conservatoire, Professor Joe Wilson said;
“This award is testament to our commitment to offering a high standard of industry-relevant education and tailored support for musicians and performers. It is an endorsement of the hard work and dedication of our fantastic team of staff here at the conservatoire and we are delighted to be acknowledged with this accreditation.”
TEF is managed by the Office for Students and the ratings are judged by an independent panel of students, academics and other experts.
