Leeds Conservatoire graduates We Are Domi (formerly DOMI) are set to represent the Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 held in Turin.

The band performed their sixth single, 'Lights Off' in the second semi-final on 12 May 2022, winning them a place in the grand final on 14 May 2022.

Watch We Are Domi's Qualifying Performance, Live at the Eurovision 2022 Semi-Final:

The Czech-Norwegian electropop band consists of lead vocalist Dominika (Domi) Hašková, guitarist Casper Hatlestad, and keyboardist Benjamin Rekstad. The band members met whilst studying at Leeds Conservatoire and first performed together in 2016 for Domi's recital.

Speaking to eurovision.tv, Domi shared their excitement for the competition:

“Our goal from the beginning was to have our music heard, which is amazing. Without Eurovision, we’d never be able to reach so many people, and it’s lovely that people are messaging us from different countries, places where we’ve never gigged, saying they love our song, or that it’s their breakup anthem, that it gives them something. We work hard on our music, and the best part is releasing it! I’m just happy to make people happy.”

Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, guitarist Casper Hatlestad explained the importance of Leeds to their music:

"Leeds is our second home. We lived there for five years and we've been on the underground music scene for so many years and we were really, really inspired by it" adding "please lads and lasses, vote for us."
