Open Days can provide crucial insight into your future place of study. We’re offering you the chance to attend an Online Open Day, where you can experience what it’s like to study here at Leeds Conservatoire.

These events solely take place online, so you can browse through our course talks, take a virtual tour of our state-of-the-art facilities and on Live Open Days, chat with our Tutors, Students, Student Support Team and our International Manager – all from the comfort of your own home!

Once you have booked your place, you will receive access to our exclusive Online Open Day, which includes all of our course talks and access to the live chat area on live event dates. There is plenty to find out about and lots to review, so we’ve created this handy guide to help you make the most out of your day.

1. Watch the Welcome Talk

A great place to start your Online Open Day is with a Welcome Talk – where you’ll be given a comprehensive guide to studying at Leeds Conservatoire.

Hear about our courses from Interim Vice-Principal and Director of School of Performance, Patsy Gilbert.

The talk will allow you to understand the ethos of the conservatoire, hear about the opportunities available to Leeds Conservatoire students and gain an understanding of how we will support you to achieve your career goals.

2. Check out our Course Talks

There’s no better way of finding out what it’s like to study your chosen subject than by visiting our on-demand course talks. Each talk is delivered by our academic staff from each course, who give detailed information about what you will learn and how you will develop your craft during your time at the conservatoire. If you are interested in more than one subject, make sure you visit the course talks for each course – there’s no limit to the number of talks you can access.

If there are questions you would like to ask our staff, you can do so on our Live Sessions, which are detailed below.

There is also a chance to catch up with our student ambassadors and Students' Union who can answer questions about student life and what it’s like to study at Leeds Conservatoire.

Whatever queries you might have, we’ve got you covered.

6. Learn about the wonderful city of Leeds

Leeds is a vibrant city with so much to offer, and it provides a fantastic backdrop to studying music and drama. Leeds is the only city outside of London to have its own Ballet and Opera companies, and our impressive cultural offering spans fantastic theatres and a range of music venues and performance spaces. The city also offers great shopping, nightlife, food and drink, as well as easy access to the countryside and green spaces.

7. Review our Accommodation Options

Our Online Open Day is the perfect opportunity to find out more about the different options of accommodation available to Leeds Conservatoire students. You can find out more about our on-campus accommodation Joseph Stones House, or the nearby One Mill Street, which features an on-site gym and a landscaped garden. If you have specific questions, you’ll be able to ask our Student Services Team during the Live Chat or 1-1 Zoom sessions.

8. Information for International Applicants

If you are applying from overseas, our page for International Students provides lots of useful information, including a student panel with our ambassadors answering frequently asked questions. Don’t forget, you can also chat live with our International Manager via Zoom at our Online Open Days. Our International Manager will be available in our ‘Student Services & International’ Live Chat.

Aside from the Live Chat feature, you can access all of our Online Open Day resources completely at your own convenience and pace.
