A Leeds Conservatoire Musical Theatre graduate is shortlisted for the Rising Star accolade at the eighth annual West End Wilma Awards. The Wilma Awards, launched in November 2014, celebrate the best of UK theatre.
Elliot Broadfoot is one of just three performers in the Rising Star category. Elliot made their professional debut as Buffalo Bill in Annie Get Your Gun at the Lavender Theatre in Epsom back in the summer. Elliot is now in a UK touring production of the official Stock Aitken Waterman musical I Should Be So Lucky which includes iconic pop hits from Kylie Minogue, Rick Astley, Bananarama, Mel & Kim, Jason Donovan, Sonia and Dead or Alive.
This year’s Wilma Awards categories cover performances that took place between May 2022 and August 2023. Theatre lovers nominated who they thought should make the shortlist and a public vote, open now, will decide the winners.
The categories are as follows:
- Best Touring Production
- Best Cabaret/Solo Performance
- Rising Star
- Best Understudy
- Best West End Ensemble Performer
- Best Takeover in a Role
- Best Performer in a West End Show
- Best Performer in an Off-West End Show
- Best Off-West End Show
- Best West End Show
The Wilma Awards will take place on Sunday 21 January 2024 at Leicester Square Theatre in the West End of London. We wish Elliot the best of luck.
