How does it feel to be chosen for Sound City?

Wicked! It’s an unreal feeling knowing that someone believes in you apart from your mum. Sound City has won a load of awards as a festival, so I think there’s definitely a sense of feeling blessed to be a part of it.

How do you think Sound City will differ from other shows that you have done?

There’s always an atmosphere that can’t be beaten at a festival - everyone is there with a liberal attitude to have a good time and chill and bathe in the music and I haven’t played a show in Liverpool before, so to have the first one to be a festival is pretty cool!

How would you describe your sound, and what can we expect from your live show at Sound City?

I would describe my sound as a blend of alt-pop and electronic sounds that focus on the expression and lyrics I’ve written. I hope you can expect  a  display of honesty in my music and performance that portrays the reasons I write my music.

Any other bands you’re keen to see, and why?

Definitely Peace and Superorganism – but it’s always wicked to share a line-up with friends and musicians in bands like Peakes and Laminate Pet Animal, as well as all the bands I’ll be sharing Red Brick Stage with!

What are you looking forward to most about your performance?

It’s been a long winter of hibernating in basement studios working on tracks, so I really can’t wait to show people what I’ve been working so hard on and express the emotion and innovation that I’ve tried to put across.

What do you think an opportunity such as Sound City will mean for your band?

The opportunity to play at Sound City will definitely allow me to showcase myself to an audience that are yet to discover who I am and hopefully who can relate to the music in the way I did when I wrote it.
