Sound City has selected four fantastic artists from Leeds Conservatoire to perform at this year’s festival; the ninth year in a row as part of an ongoing partnership.
Applications were open to current Leeds Conservatoire students from all pathways and years, plus those who graduated in 2024.
The four Leeds Conservatoire artists selected for Sound City 2025 as part of the partnership, and highlighted below, are Bank Details, Bathing Suits, Sair and Shania Sabrina. All four will perform on Saturday 3 May.
Following the Sound City+ music conference, the multi-venue festival across Liverpool city centre kicks off between Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 May. It aims to reflect the most exciting new artists that are destined to soundtrack the year ahead, with the first headliner announced as The Royston Club.

Sair, a singer/songwriter from London currently based in Leeds, strives for imperfection, which in his eyes, is everything perfect about music. Sair encapsulates the alternative rock sound with luscious strong vocals and enchanting melodies reminiscent of Jeff Buckley, Radiohead and Muse.
London raised British Pakistani, he aims to bridge a gap between western and South Asian sonics, lyrically and vocally for himself and others like him.
Shania Sabrina

Shania Sabrina is an artist currently living in London/Leeds. Shania’s ability to write, produce and perform all her music allows her creativity to flow freely and truly. Being surrounded by instruments her whole life, Shania’s craft to make music is simply magical. She is easily inspired by nature, people and stories - expressed in her colourful lyricism.
For Shania Sabrina writing and producing her own music is a beautiful gift, one she wishes to share amongst people whom she hopes will enjoy her music. Inspired by artists such as Erykah Badu, Cleo Sol, Corinne Bailey Rae, Kali Uchis and Amaria, she is an incredibly creative, passionate and dynamic artist who strives to create a separate realm in which listeners can fully escape to in each song.
