17 - 21 July 2023
This summer, we are collaborating with Leeds Arts University and The Prince’s Trust to bring you Freelance Fest! A week-long Enterprise Program to help you set up your business or develop your practice and springboard into the creative industries.
We will support development of knowledge and skills in order for you to become successful freelancers in the creative industries, covering topics like budgeting and accounting, marketing, sales, presenting and pitching and much more. We will also deliver workshops on social media, drop in sessions with IP and copywriter solicitors as well as inspirational guests.
The week is underpinned by the Prince's Trust Enterprise Program, which looks to impart essential business skills and ideas, and give you the confidence to go it alone. As part of the Prince's Trust offer you have access to mentoring (over the course of two years), and where applicable grants and loans.*
Working with Leeds Arts University also provides an opportunity for you to meet other graduating creatives, growing your support network and potentially finding clients and business partners as a result.
*Please note in order to access the ongoing support you will need to come to all of the Prince’s Trust sessions throughout the week in order to complete the course.
Freelance Fest is open to Leeds Conservatoire 2023 Graduates, alumni who have graduated in the last five years and current students who have started or are ready to start freelancing.
The week starts at Leeds Arts University and ends at Leeds Conservatoire, ticketholders will get full details of the locations.
This event is free for all! However, you do need to sign up to attend.
The schedule will be sent out to ticket holders closer to the time. It will include The Princes Trust workshops as well as extra sessions in Social Media Strategy, Content Creation, Copyright, Funding, Bid writing, Networking and more!
