Leeds Conservatoire collaborate with a variety of festivals across the UK to create work experience and performance opportunities for our current students and alumni.

The Employability & Enterprise team work closely with festival organisers to deliver tailored packages specific to student requirements, whether that be as performers or staff members.

We are excited to announce some last-minute opportunities at Beat Herder Festival, taking place in Ribble Valley, Lancashire from 18th – 21st July 2024.

We are looking for current Leeds Conservatoire student bands or artists (all pathways and years) to apply, as well as those that graduated from the Conservatoire in 2023.

The following opportunities are available:

  • Busking – self contained performers of any type during the day along the festival street (either soloists, duos or trios)
  • Wake-up Brass – roaming musicians daily on the camp site

Please note that there is no technical backup available for these performances – you would need to be entirely self-contained and able to either play acoustically or with your own battery amplification.

You would receive a free weekend pass to the festival, and one meal token.

The Conservatoire can pay up to £100 to cover transport costs.

Application window: Wednesday 26th June – Monday 8th July.

Applications will close at 10am on Monday 8th July. Late submissions cannot be accepted.

Applications will be reviewed as quickly as possible, and successful applicants will hopefully be notified by Friday 12th July.

If you’re successful, performances will take place at a time TBA across the weekend. You must be able to commit to this date in advance.

In order to make our involvement with these festivals as successful as possible, you must be willing to work with Leeds Conservatoire around any promotional activities associated with the festival. A hard-working and positive attitude from any musician involved is essential.

If you feel you would be an appropriate candidate (having read the above details), please complete the form below. Any questions can be directed to Mark or James at EaE@lcm.ac.uk.
