Aimee trained at Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts on the BA (Hons) Acting course (2012) and is currently researching Theatre on an MA programme at the University of Surrey. As an actor, she worked with the RSC, Talespin Theatre and Rum and Monkey Productions, amongst others.
Aimee works extensively as a Director, Playwright, and Voiceover artist. In 2017 she founded The Butler Company for young, rural actors and currently runs Hellcat Theatre, which 'makes theatre with Feminist leanings, working-class roots and a North-Eastern twist.'
As a director, Aimee worked closely with The Georgian Theatre Royal and Up Ere productions and is supported by Northern Stage on the Regional Theatre Young Director's Scheme 2021. In November 2018, Aimee was proud to direct and produce "Resonate" at Richmond Castle, an immersive theatre experience to commemorate the centenary of Armistice Day. Two of her award-winning adaptations were staged at the Edinburgh Fringe, "This is Yorkshire" in 2018 and "Dorian Gray" the following year.
Aimee has considerable experience writing theatre for Young Actors with fifteen of her plays and two musicals performed by Youth Theatre groups. Amongst her plays for adults, "Black Dark" was produced as a radio play for Just Out Theatre and had it's stage debut at Live Theatre Newcastle in Sept 2021, directed by Jonluke McKie.
Alongside lecturing at Leeds Conservatoire, Aimee is a reviewer for A Younger Theatre and a Tutor on the Foundation Acting course at The Actors Forge, Newcastle.
