Caterina McEvoy is a transdisciplinary composer, sound artist, and musician based in Yorkshire and Scotland. Her diverse artistic practice encompasses electroacoustic music, compositions, and immersive sound art, often incorporating environmental field recordings (EFR). Caterina collaborates extensively with artists, musicians, and dancers, showcasing her work at UK festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe festival and BBC Radio Leeds.

With a PhD in electroacoustic music and composition from The University of Sheffield, Caterina serves as Associate Professor at Leeds Conservatoire and a visiting lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She advocates for interdisciplinary collaboration and skill development in her teaching roles. Her compositions have aired on Denmark's The Lake Radio, and her sound art installations have been exhibited at notable venues such as Venice's THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space, Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi, and Misericordia Archives.

In 2022, Caterina toured Scotland with Slanjayvah Danza, performing flamenco guitar and percussion. She received funding from Arts Council England's Developing Your Creative Practice initiative in 2021, exploring projects involving ambisonics and EFR, including residency with Invisible Flock at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Her ongoing collaboration with a Liverpool collective focus on environmental themes.

At present, Caterina is engaged in a year-long professional development programme with Creative Access, ITV Westworks in London, in partnership with Hollywood composer Lorne Balfe. Additionally, she is actively pursuing post-doctoral research, which includes initial discussions with Joern Rickert and Andy Jackson, the Founders and Directors of Neudio—a pioneering app that integrates neuroscience and AI for personalised music therapy.
