Evan is an experienced mandolinist, guitarist, singer and composer based in Leeds, UK. He has gained experience playing bluegrass and folk music in the UK over the last 5 years. With his own band The Kentucky Cow Tippers he has played concerts and festivals across the UK and Europe.
This band won 2nd place at the La Roche Bluegrass Festival band competition in 2016. Their EP ‘Northgrass’ was released in 2015 and features ‘well crafted songs’ and ‘outstanding, instrumental ability’ (British Bluegrass News, Spring 2016).
Evan has worked with accomplished musician and composer Ben Somers in his eponymous ’String Band’ where he has toured twice and worked freelance on many occasions. He is also regularly hired on a freelance basis to play in Ceilidh bands and to lead bluegrass concerts.
Evan provides private tuition where he places an emphasis on developing fretboard knowledge, improving listening skills, improvisation/creativity and building technique/repertoire from any style of music.
