UK based saxophonist and educator Jim Corry is a recognised performer, having toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe, US, Japan, South America, South Africa, Russia and Australia. With numerous performances at internationally recognised venues he continues to develop his reputation as a talented and versatile musician.
He has performed at many International Jazz Festivals including Montreux Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, New Orleans Jazz Festival, Nova Jazz and Blues Festival, Glastonbury Jazz Stage, Blue Note Milan and Cork International Jazz Festival.
After graduating from Leeds Conservatoire with a BA Hons in Jazz Studies in 1998 he started playing professionally and established himself in the North's thriving music scene and branched out from playing the Alto exclusively becoming comfortable on Soprano, Tenor and Baritone Saxophones. In the years that followed he has gone on to perform throughout the world in a variety of musical settings and genres.
Jim has worked, toured and recorded with some of the industries leading artists including Jamiroquai and was featured on their number one selling album 'Rock Dust Light Star'. He toured with the band from 2009 - 2017 and highlights included three South American tours, performing at the Nobel peace Prize Ceremony, supporting Stevie Wonder at Rock In Rio Brazil and Hyde Park London and performing at Sydney Harbour New Years Eve Concert.
Jim also toured the world with Brit award winning producer Mark Ronson with whom he was lucky enough to work and perform with artists including; Jay-Z, Lilly Allen, Duran Duran, Rhymefest, Wiley and Daniel Merriweather. Previous to the Mark Ronson tours Jim also toured worldwide for three years with Grammy award winning singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae after recording on her number one multi platinum selling self titled album.
