Neil is a Fight Director/Stunt Coordinator, Intimacy Director, and Senior Teacher with the British Academy of Dramatic Combat (BADC). Teaching at a variety of drama schools, universities, and theatres, Neil has been an HE Lecturer at Leeds Conservatoire (Musical Theatre) since 2021, UC Leeds (Acting) since 2019, and a frequent guest teacher at the University of Salford (Technical Theatre) and York St. John University (Performance: Theatre), amongst others.

Neil gained his degree in Performance: Theatre from the University of Leeds, a PGCE (16+ post-compulsory) through the Open University, and was awarded Fellowship status with Advance HE, in 2025.

A former Sensei and Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) enthusiast, Neil specialises in a variety of fight styles both western and eastern, armed and unarmed, modern and historic.

Lastly, he has been the Treasurer on the BADC Committee since 2019.
