Nick Svarc is Graduate of Leeds College Of Music. His teaching history includes; ‘The British Academy of New Music’ in London and ‘Access to Music’ whilst also being a long-standing teacher of Guitar at Hull University.
Nick has played at various Jazz and Popular music Festivals. Most notably Birstonas Jazz Festival in Lithuania, Manchester Jazz Festival, Leeds Jazz Festival, The 02 Wireless Festival, Gateshead international Jazz festival, London Jazz festival and international dates in Poland and Brussels.
Nick is a member of bassist and educator Scott Devine’s Project.
Nick has worked with Scott Devine on a Blues Course and has recorded and performed with a variety of Pop bands and producers including producer Al Stone (Jamiroquai, Bjork) Jeff Christy, and legendary studio engineer and record producer Phil Brown.
A parliamentary Jazz award winner, Nick is the guitar player in Ubunye, Winners of the 2023 Parliamentary Jazz Award for Best Ensemble.

Nick Svarc is also a member of Svarc Hanley Longhawn a long-standing project featuring drummer Steve Hanley and Keyboardist Martin Longhawn, releasing four albums to date, with reviews in publications such as Jazz Wise, and UK Jazz News
Also a member of the band Groove Razor’s a London based fusion project, appearing on the album ‘Spacetime’.
Nick is also a member of Drummer and Educator - Dave Hassell’s Hydra, with saxophonist and composer Andy Scott.
Nick has performed with Tim Lefebvre (Wayne Krantz/David Bowie/ Tedeschi Trucks Band)
Recently Nick has also performed at the London Bass Guitar Show at London Olympia, working with Scott Devine,Oli Rockberger, and Jack Pollitt, performing on The SBL (Scott’s Bass Lesson’s) Stage, Other performer’s Included Gary Willis, Rich Brown, Bobby Vega, and Henrik Linder.
Also well-known on the Blues circuit, Nick is the guitarist for Emma Wilson winner of ‘Emerging Artist of the Year" award at the UK Blues Awards ceremony 2022, most recently performing in Brussels.
Nick has a vested interest in research and Jazz pedagogy passing musical knowledge to the younger generations which can be seen in his teaching and in the achievements of past students making up cohorts at The Royal Academy, Guildhall, Trinity and Leeds Conservatoire.
