Since graduating from Leeds Conservatoire (then LCM) in 2008 and later achieving an MA with distinction, Phil has led a varied career in the music industry from session work, writing, recording, performing, and teaching.
As a multi instrumentalist covering many different styles Phil has worked on or created solo projects for a vast array of different music.
Career highlights include: session guitar and bass for Astraea, Ward Thomas, and Nightmares on Wax. Tours of the UK and Europe with various artists. Writing music for production music publishers including Universal, BMG, and Warner-Chappell. Phil has also recently joined Leeds-based band Fold who have regular radio play and will begin regularly performing again July 2023.
In his teaching career Phil has ran a successful guitar teaching business spanning many local areas around Leeds, as well as lecturing at Universities from foundation year through to Masters level. Phil teaches on the Leeds Junior Conservatoire Saturday morning course training young musicians early on for a life in the music industry and preparing them for degrees in music.
