Classical, Composition, Film, TV and Games and Jazz

Popular Music (Performer, Songwriter, Writer Performer and Writer Producer)
Our MA Popular Music pathways empower you to refine your artistic identity and master your craft, whether you aspire to excel as a performer, songwriter, writer-producer, or writer-performer. With tailored coaching, mentorship from industry professionals, and opportunities to develop your skills in live and studio settings, you'll gain the expertise to thrive in today’s music industry. From stage presence and songwriting to production and performance, our programmes provide the tools and guidance to nurture your unique creative voice.
Music Production
Develop expertise in DAW-based, studio-based, and immersive audio practices, honing your skills under the guidance of specialist tutors, industry professionals, and peers. You’ll be part of a diverse and creative community where you’ll be able to apply your music production skills in a specialist music institution environment where collaboration is encouraged by staff and students alike.
(Note: This course takes place in-person at our Leeds campus, however there is also an option to study an online variant of the course, focusing on DAW-based production.)

With a deep understanding of the creative and industrial contexts within which your practice exists, as an alumnus you will be prepared for a career as a musician.
Our postgraduate students have received commissions, performed at regional and international festivals including South by South West, The Reeperbahn Festival, Glastonbury and Live at Leeds, progressed to teaching positions, and created public installations.

Funding Your Postgraduate Studies
There are a range of options to help you fund your postgraduate course, including postgraduate student loans. There are also several scholarships available to apply for, including the following:
- Leeds Conservatoire Progression Scholarship - 15 scholarships are available to alumni who have an offer of a place on a MA course at Leeds Conservatoire and belong to one or more of our underrepresented groups, will be automatically awarded a 10% discount on tuition fees.
