Leeds Junior Conservatoire FAQs 2024/25
Timetables will be sent out as soon as they are finalised, which is usually the first week in September.
Please bring a copy of this with you each week. So you know which lessons you have.

You will be given a temporary LJC Card on your first day. Personalised ID cards with your photo will be taken in the first three weeks of term
Leeds Junior Conservatoire students can add 1-1 lessons to their 4-hour programme at a 10% discounted rate of £45 per hour (usually £50 per hour).
We will take a look at our timetable to see which other options are available. We always help with changes where we can, so do come and ask us.

It is not unusual to find something new challenging, and if you can't get it right the first time, that's normal, too.
You won't be the only one feeling like that, and tutors are always happy to explain things differently in a way that helps you learn or make sure something is at the right level for you.

Over the first half term, tutors will be getting to know students and their strengths so they can plan their lesson to be inclusive for everyone.
The timetable isn't set in stone so if appropriate we can look at changing your group.
If you don't feel safe or are upset about something that has happened, the important thing is that you tell someone about it.
If you feel you can, talk to a tutor you trust, Karen (Head of Leeds Junior Conservatoire), Dan (Leeds Junior Conservatoire Coordinator) or a family member.
It is important to us that LJC is a safe space for children and young people.
To get the most out of attending LJC, there will be work to be completed for the following lesson. What you are asked to do depends on your lessons, but these are the types of things you may need to prepare for Saturdays
- learning a song
- practising individual parts
- listening to music
- writing lyrics
- creating a list of songs you would like to learn
- creating a riff
