Our two-week UK Theatre Intensive offers a unique opportunity for international students to experience in-depth training and the richness of British theatre.
With skills classes, industry masterclasses, and trips to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and London’s West End, this programme combines training with unforgettable cultural experiences. Choose residential or non-residential options and take your craft to the next level while exploring iconic theatre cities.
Two weeks of full-time, Conservatoire training in Acting, Voice, Movement and Acting Through Song. Classes are delivered by Leeds Conservatoire Staff and Visiting Lecturers. Each individual is a subject specialist, working now in the UK Theatre and Screen Industries. Classes focus on developing advanced technique, introducing UK & European practitioners and studying British Theatre texts.

Masterclasses are single sessions with industry guests, visiting companies or casting professionals. Each session offers further insight from world class artists making work in the UK. Previous Masterclasses have included: Gecko, Royal Shakespeare Company, Middle Child, Imogen Knight, Duncan McMillan, JBR.
All participants will travel to London’s West End and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where they will spend two days immersed in each theatre culture. Students will enjoy multiple live performances in both locations. Travel to these locations provides cultural insight and expands the artistic horizons of participants. This package is for any participant who is not commuting to the course from Leeds or surrounding areas. Students who require accommodation for the duration of the course should book the residential package. Fees and package details are the same for UK and International students. The schedule below provides an overview of training, theatre and travel activities during the UK Theatre Intensive 2024. Please use this schedule to plan your travel from your home to Leeds, UK.
Participants are advised to arrive in Leeds no later than Sunday the 18th of August.
Students are scheduled to return to Leeds from Edinburgh on Saturday the 31st of August. Onward travel should be arranged for Sunday the 1st of September.
Student must be 18 years of age, on or before the 17th of August 2024.
This course is an intermediate programme of study, designed to advance acquired skill.
Participants will require some previous experience of actor training. Below is a non-exhaustive list of previous experience that may apply:
All students must have fluent, confident use and knowledge of the English language.
