Leeds Conservatoire Futures: The Scheme

At Leeds Conservatoire, our mission is to educate and inspire the next generation of young musicians, performers and storytellers.

  • An initial planning meeting to discuss how we can best work together, followed by an annual check in over a three-year cycle
  • Two bespoke workshops each year (these may be virtual or in-person)
  • An invitation for your staff and students to attend the Leeds Junior Conservatoire (LJC) Festival held twice a year
  • Support, advice and priority access for your music and performing arts students to audition for Leeds Junior Conservatoire 
  • VIP invitation for music and performing arts staff to Leeds Conservatoire  showcase events and LJC Festival days 
  • LJC will visit your school to hold auditions for interested students, and provide information for families about opportunities at LJC 
  • Access to workshops at the conservatoire for your students. 
  • Priority application and places at LJC
  • A Leeds Conservatoire Futures plaque for your school
  • An initial planning meeting, followed by annual check ins with the Student Recruitment team over a three-year cycle
  • Two bespoke workshops in your school/college including one practical music/performing arts workshop and an application support workshop (these can also be delivered online)
  • Priority access to Leeds Conservatoire’s annual School Workshop Days
  • Leeds Conservatoire representation at your Post-16 careers fairs, offering guidance and support for students and their families on the transition to Higher Education and applying to a conservatoire*
  • Priority access for your students to book onto our annual Summer Academy summer school
  • VIP invitation for music and performing arts staff to exclusive Leeds Conservatoire showcase events
  • Support, advice and priority access for your music and performing arts students to audition for Leeds Junior Conservatoire
  • An annual invitation for your music and performing arts students to attend two of our Leeds Junior Conservatoire Festival days
  • Opportunities to feed in to resources for Leeds Conservatoire’s online hub of resources for schools
  • Regular e-newsletters containing news stories, open day dates, key recruitment information and CPD opportunities for music and performing arts teachers
  • Annual mail-out of the new prospectus and bespoke collateral for staff
  • A Leeds Conservatoire Futures plaque for your school/college
  • Dedicated on-hand support from our Student Recruitment team

*Online events in the first instance. Presence at in-person fairs may be discussed dependent on Covid-19 measures and staff capacity for travel

How to Apply

If you are interested in applying for this scheme, please complete the application form and select the strand of the scheme that you wish to apply for. We will then be in contact with you to go through the next steps. Please note, we will need to consider each application individually to ensure that it is a mutually beneficial relationship. We cannot guarantee membership to all applicant organisations, but will try our best to accommodate as many as possible.

There will be regular opportunities throughout the scheme’s membership to speak with our team, identify areas of support required, set action plans and to provide feedback and reflection in order to ensure that this is a mutually beneficial relationship.
